I’ve always wanted to wear a hat. I’ve seen enough movies and TV shows to associate hats with elegance, but I still haven’t found one that really fits my style or that I feel comfortable wearing

What I didn’t know is that in Barcelona there’s a "Hat Walk" day, where people go out for a casual parade wearing hats. Some even dress up in their finest outfits. This year was the 22nd edition, so it’s not exactly a centuries old tradition
It’s a pretty informal activity. A 700 meter street is set aside for people to simply walk around wearing a hat. There aren’t really any rules, just creativity and improvisation. That’s what makes it interesting. You end up seeing real works of art on people’s heads, some sharing styles, others coordinating their looks
This year I didn’t wear a hat, but hopefully next year I’ll give it a try
