Humanity's Stubbornness

Barcelona is a place full of history. It´s wild to visit spots that have been worshipped for centuries. One of those places I recently visited is the Montserrat Abbey.

I was curious to check it out since it’s located on this massive 1,000-meter-high mountain, just 40 km from the Mediterranean coast. Seeing it from the sky is insane, and it’s no surprise that the old Spaniards saw some mystical vibe in this spot and decided to build, of course, an abbey right in the middle of the mountain.

As humans, we have this crazy need to leave our mark anywhere we can, and the chance to put a church on the highest point for miles around is something that just can’t be missed.

Don’t get me wrong, though: it’s incredible. Building this structure so far away from everything is a massive task, a masterpiece of engineering that shows the stubbornness of humanity to do the unthinkable, to push ourselves as far as we can, and to conquer the unreachable.
